Shimmy Beach Club is featured on Cape Etc website, read the review of Shimmy as Cape Town’s premier night spot.

Let’s face it, it doesn’t get much cooler than a party on a beach. And when you add Cape Town into the mix, the prospect just sounds even cooler. So technically that makes Shimmy Beach Club even cooler than cool and rightfully so – they have recently hosted the official Ultra Festival warm up party and have a sizzling line up for February that includes a few surprise international guests.

The one name that jumps out at me is Worakls – a name that I am seeing more and more of. He will be gracing Shimmy Beach Club on both Friday 6th February for the Friday night Anthems party and the next day on Saturday the 7th for the Pool Party. To be honest I had never heard of the French producer up until recently and decided to give his tunes a listen after seeing the umpteenth friend on Facebook raving about his music. I liked it. The genre that Worakls operates in feels like uplifting dream/soul tech and thus I conclude that it is perfectly suited for a party on the beach.

This month another international legend takes to the stage, in the form of Joris Delacroix.

Shimmy also recently hosted Submerged Sundays featuring Goldfish – a weekly event that has gained cult-like status with Capetonians during summer.  The Beach Club has fast established itself as not only one of Cape Town’s premier nightlife spots, but also as a destination for lovers of really good food (read our review here).
