SHIMMY BEACH CLUB LAUNCHES IT’S NEW SUMMER MENU
Shimmy Beach Club, Cape Town’s premier venue at the V&A Waterfront, has launched its’ summer menu. The new Shimmy Summer Menu will be available from 19 October 2016 until the end of April 2017.
Our Shimmy traditional bold Mediterranean influences are pulling through into Executive Chef, Adrian Cook’s truly cosmopolitan summer menu this season, alongside the obvious fusion inspirations, making this a South African menu to suit locals and tourists alike. We’re focusing more on the inclusion of dietary specific meals than ever before, offering carb-conscience, vegan and gluten free options.
“We have installed an indoor braai, especially for this new menu, flame grilling our meat. We’re cooking over Rooi Krans coals this summer, to seal in the flavour, giving the meat a beautiful crust, left full of the juices.” says Chef Adrian, “The red eye robata grilled Karoo Lamb Chops, served with fresh vegetables and salsa verde is a must-try dish.”
Shimmy Beach Club has paired up with Darling Brew to support Africa’s first carbon neutral beer. Try the trio of Burger Sliders, with an ice-cold craft beer, or if you are feeling adventurous, then the fresh local Black Mussels, served with Darling Brew’s Blood Serpent and teriyaki sauce is for you.
Chef Adrian adds, “Our dessert menu is something special this season. The clear award-winner – the toasted brioche with local blue cheese, purple figs, toasted walnut and fynbos honey! We also created a salted caramel popcorn crème brulee, inspired by a combination of my wife and kids favourite desserts.”
A new Pool Deck Menu is also available to enjoy while you lounge away your days in Cape Town’s tropical summer heat. Create your own Shimmy Signature Basket, by choosing all your favourite snacks, such as cream cheese jalapeno poppers and sticky chicken wings, served with our rustic potato chips.
Shimmy Beach Club is set to be THE place to be this summer in Cape Town, with the Summer Calling campaign kicking off on the last weekend of November.
